OUR STORY

Applied Ecology was founded to provide practical environmental solutions that deliver measurable outcomes for pests, people, and places. Drawing on extensive experience in ecology, environmental management, and geospatial technologies, we work alongside landowners, businesses, councils, and community organisations to solve complex environmental challenges.

Our team combines ecological expertise with practical field experience and innovative technologies to design and implement effective environmental programmes. From pest management and restoration planning through to biodiversity monitoring, GIS analysis, and environmental data management, we help clients make informed decisions that achieve lasting results.

We believe successful environmental outcomes require more than good science alone. By understanding the operational realities faced by our clients, we develop practical, achievable solutions that improve environmental performance while supporting long-term sustainability.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to create resilient landscapes where healthy ecosystems, productive land use, and thriving communities exist together. We are committed to delivering science-based solutions that protect biodiversity, restore natural systems, and support sustainable environmental management.

By combining ecological knowledge, innovative technologies, and evidence-based decision making, we help clients understand environmental challenges, identify opportunities, and implement solutions that create meaningful long-term outcomes. We strive to be a trusted partner in environmental stewardship and ecological restoration across New Zealand.

OUR EXPERTISE

Applied Ecology provides specialist services across pest control, ecological planning, restoration, environmental monitoring, GIS, and environmental data management.

Our pest management services include targeted programmes for residential properties, commercial operations, farms, forests, and conservation projects. We design practical pest animal and pest plant control strategies that reduce impacts on biodiversity and support healthier ecosystems.

Our planning and consulting services include ecological assessments, restoration planning, biodiversity management, environmental monitoring, mapping, spatial analysis, and data management solutions. By integrating ecological science with advanced GIS and environmental information systems, we help organisations collect, manage, analyse, and utilise environmental data more effectively.

Whether supporting a local restoration project, managing environmental risks for infrastructure developments, or developing large-scale environmental programmes, our focus remains the same: delivering practical solutions, reliable advice, and measurable environmental outcomes.
